Well-known, or more-talked, or rumour etc. drivers of yen weakness is a reason, but, hiden or less talked drivers may be real reason for yen depressed. Medium-term GDP expectation for Japan is lower or worst, due to Japan want to go a war with China. Export-oriential country go war with its major market. Then, Japan won’t get survive global finance woe. Growth view ia always No.1 factor for currency valuation in fundamental models in big banks, but, they never talk. Only after trend end, somebody may do summary.

Its well thought out speculation though. I have been saying for a while that the market was driving up the yen crosses without any concrete reasoning (I.e. Action!); which is absolutely fine and I have riden the move higher, but I would recommend slashing position size simply because so much is now priced in that the tiniest titbit of negative news will smash them back down. The direction in the long term should still be higher but the brave and flight of finger should be able to make some quick money on the yen-long side in the coming sessions; I just wish I didn’t have a ‘proper’ job at the moment so I could participate fully!!!MtD
