I was a little disgusted when I closed my NZD/JPY longs yesterday after the poor Aussie jobs numbers only to see the thing scream higher, but the profit take doesn’t look so bad now. Having bought on an 80 handle and sold on 85 I can not complain.

I would think the sell off is just profit taking on Friday. Maybe people don’t want to be too loaded up on risk if the North Koreans might go crazy over the weekend? Personally I think that’s just sabre rattling as usual, but a decent pullback should give some more impetus for USD/JPY to go through 100 next week perhaps. I was hoping a close on the 99 handle there might make a early Monday morning break of 100 in the interbank market a possibility, for some fireworks early in the week. Maybe this is not to be though.
